It's super light and compact, but relatively open and spacious for a two person tent. I like the option to only put up the rain fly or camp with no rain fly and pretty much be under the stars.Very sturdy, simple to put up, and a nice fit for two people. The two entrances and vestibules are also quite convenient. This tent is both. All of the one-person tents that I considered were claustrophobic and do not weight much less. For two people, the Copper Spur UL 2 is cozy rather than spacious -- sized similarly with all other 2-person backpacking tents on the market. Fortunately, the Copper Spur UL 2 has more headroom inside than most tents - thanks to the rigging of the poles. It's very easy for two people to sit inside without bumping into the super-fine bug netting. The weight savings comes from the use of extremely thin fabrics. On a moonlit night, the rainfly appears translucent -- a nice touch. The fabric on the bottom is so thin that I will not use the tent without the addition of the Copper Spur UL 2 footprint (sold separately). The Copper Spur UL 2 has more headroom inside than most tents, I think this due from the the pole arrangement. Two people can sit inside without bumping into the bug fabric. Due too the fact that the bottom fabric was thin, I am thrilled the tent came with a free BA footprint. Setup is very quick. Love the two vestibules configuration, and are designed so that rain will not drip into the tent when opened. Good value tent, I am very happy with the Copper Spur UL 2. |
